Roger GregoryRoger Gregory is in his 32nd year as a music instructor the last 26 of which he has been a band director.  This will be his 8th year as Director of Bands at Deer Creek. Previously he has served as Director of Bands for  Northwest Classen High School in Oklahoma City, Tecumseh, and Okemah.  Mr. Gregory also was the assistant Director of Bands in McLoud and Western Heights. 

As an educator, Mr. Gregory has served as an adjudicator, clinician, and guest conductor for many area groups and honor bands.  He also teaches privately to at present 20 students.   Originally from Detroit, Michigan, he moved to Oklahoma in 1982 after graduating from college and spending one year in Nashville, Tennessee as both a studio pianist and actor. 

As a performer, Mr. Gregory has played bassoon with the United States Collegiate Wind Band, National Intercollegiate Band, a charter member of the Oklahoma City Concert Band and was a substitute Bassoonist for the Oklahoma Symphony in the 1980’s.   He also played piano for Barbara Mandrell while in Nashville before coming to Oklahoma. 

Mr. Gregory is a member of Music Educator’s National Conference (MENC), Oklahoma Music Educator’s Association (OMEA), International Association of Jazz Educators (IAJE) and the Oklahoma Bandmaster’s Association (OBA). 

Mr. Gregory lives in Edmond with his beautiful wife Rebecca and step-son Nehemiah-Joe.
